Artistic & Cultural practice
WANDA WAINSTEN
Visual artist born in Buenos Aires in 1976, currently based in Rome. She holds a degree in Cultural Policy and Administration from the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero and has a strong artistic background. She studied painting and printmaking at the Corcoran College of Art & Design in Washington, D.C., where she lived for several years. Her early training in Architecture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (three years completed) has had a lasting influence on her work, shaping a distinctive geometric language that runs consistently throughout her practice.
With more than 25 years of artistic trajectory, her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in galleries in Argentina, Italy, the United States, and Sweden, as well as in institutional contexts such as the Embassy of Japan in Argentina and the Argentine Embassies in the United States, Stockholm, and Rome. Her works have been auctioned at Galería Arroyo—one of Argentina’s most prestigious galleries—and are part of private collections.
Her practice has evolved from traditional painting toward sculpture and mixed media, driven by an ongoing exploration of new materials and visual languages. Currently, she experiments with artificial intelligence applied to the animation of her own paintings, creating video works in which static images are transformed into living, dynamic compositions.
Alongside her artistic practice, she is part of the editorial team of Exibart Latin America, where she writes analytical articles and contributes to critical debates on contemporary art. She also advises Almost Corner Bookshop in Rome on Latin American narrative and fiction, and produces animated art videos for artists and galleries as part of their communication strategies.
